A national campaign led by survivor, author and health advocate Rodney Folmar to help men talk openly about prostate cancer, get tested early, and understand every treatment option. We go where men already are: barbershops, churches, street corners and community centers.
These are the conversations most men avoid, and the ones that save lives. In barbershop chairs, on city sidewalks, in church pews and in circles of brothers who have been there, men are asking the hard questions about testing, treatment, intimacy and recovery.
Rodney creates a space where men can speak honestly and leave with a plan.
The Prostate Cancer Barbershop Tour
COMING TO A CITY NEAR YOU
The barbershop has always been where Black men talk about life. Now it’s where we talk about prostate cancer. Rodney moderates candid, unscripted conversations with 6–8 men in the barber chairs, covering testing, treatment options, side effects and survival. Every stop is filmed and shared to reach men far beyond the shop.
BRING THE TOUR TO YOUR CITY
In 2021, Rodney Folmar heard the words every man fears: you have prostate cancer. He chose to fight, had surgery, and turned his recovery into a mission. Since then he has spoken with more than 3,500 men, and more than 1,500 have been tested as a direct result.

His talks are honest and practical, and many men walk out ready to schedule their test. He speaks to women as well, because wives, daughters and mothers are often the reason a man finally sees a doctor.

In-person, virtual and hybrid
Prostate cancer is common, and it can often be beaten when it is caught early. Too many men find out too late, and Black men pay the highest price.
Rodney Folmar, Sr. doesn’t speak about healthcare from a podium of theory. He speaks from exam rooms, emergency rooms, and the waiting room where he learned his cancer hadn’t spread.
As an author, health magazine publisher, and host of the Wellness Unscripted podcast, Rodney brings a message that is direct, personal, and practical: you are the most important person in the room.
